Fire House Tour

This morning our family went to Station #61 Fire House located in Palm Beach Gardens. We went with a mommy group that I'm a part of to benefit our Relay for Life team "Momma's for a Cure". It was a great opportunity for us to have fun with our kids while FUNdraising.

The Fire station on Burns Road and the guys that work there are absolutely amazing! They answered tons of questions and told us why the fire trucks are not red (like what I remember growing up), and OUR fire station has Garden Green paint made especially for their station. It is because of the fog and rain during hurricane season and Garden Green makes the trucks more easily visible. It is so popular that Miami area has adopted the color for their trucks.

The firefighters took their time showing us all of the station, where they hang out during down time, their bunker during bad weather (when they are required to be on call), and try on some of their equipment.

March Birmingham Trip

The beginning of March the girls and I went to visit Dearie and Papa in Birmingham, AL. We ate a lot of  Milo's Hamburger's...which is always a great thing! We also were able to go to Treetop Adventures, which is an indoor playground site that has a huge tree house, bounce houses, and arcade games. We traveled down to Calera, AL for a hour long train ride on a train built in the 1950s.

These are the pictures I took from my camera phone, but I will have more pictures to share soon when Dearie sends her CD copy of pictures from her camera.
