October 2012

At the beginning of October, KellyAnn and I celebrated Oktober in the Town of Juno Beach. The police department invited us to set up a table and answer questions for a few of their community members. It was lots of fun, and I was so happy that Dan and the girls joined later that evening.

That first weekend of October was very busy. Dan's friend, Karina's daughter turned seven. Her family invited us to join her birthday party at their local gymnastics club. The girls had so much fun, and we will need to look into gymnastics next year! 

 

The NEXT weekend, Alyson (our local ACS Community Representative) and I had a booth at Downtown at the Gardens Strides weekend kickoff hosted by Jupiter Medical Center. We had lots of fun talking to people about all the services ACS offers and were joined by Linda, the event chair for PBSC. The next morning, all three of us worked the Strides Walk and helped in different areas throughout the day. The teams at that walk raised over $20,000 dollars onsite!

We were able to join our MOPS group for a playdate at the local pumpkin patch. Our playdate included a story time, picking a pumpkin, and pictures on the haystack. 

 Later that night, Hannah skyped with HER Dearie. She loves this time alone with Dearie and enjoys showing Dearie all of her artwork from the previous week. 

 Lowe's FINALLY installed our wooden fence. The dogs much appreciate it, and I am very thankful that it is over.

 BOO BASH at Downtown at the Gardens kicked off our Halloween celebrations! Hannah dressed up as Merida (from Brave) and Gryffyn dressed up as Rapunzel (from Tangled). We met our friends Deseree and Jami with sons Tyler (Spiderman) and Kyle (Batman) and Lauren and Hans with girls Alexandra (Minnie Mouse) and Elizabeth (Tinker Bell). They got to ride on the carousel, train, and make crafts. 

 The last Monday of October, the girls had picture day. I can't wait to see how it turned out. This is a preview of what they wore: 

 On Tuesday, both girls had dance class and got to dress up for a special class. Since Eeyore usually wears a tutu, he also got to dress up in his Halloween costume. Eeyore went as Pascal (friendly lizard in Tangled) and Hannah talked Tigger into dressing up as a skunk. I have no idea why. 

Halloween brought lots of parties. Each girl had a party at school. Hannah ripped her costume during dance class, and had to resort to being TinkerBell for Halloween. I was very thankful for our dress up closet. 

 After school, we went to Trunk or Treat at Christ Fellowship. Our friends Deseree and Jami won best trunk out of 100 trunks decorated. They made Noah's Ark with Jami dressed up as Noah. Dan and I took Tyler and Kyle trunk or treating while they handed out candy. 

September 2012

It is really hard to find Auburn gear in the state of Florida. Thankfully, I thought ahead this season and bought  some War Eagle gear when we visited Dearie and Papa in Alabama in early August. Also, Papa sent some great t-shirts so we could rotate out our outfits.

 Dance class has become a huge part of our lives! Eeyore even wears a tutu to class now! 

 They are getting so big, that Hannah and Gryffyn play on a majority of the playground equipment now! They like to scare me with the rope bridge! 

 

 On days when it is too cold (below 70...hehe) we take apart the green sofa and make a huge bed to watch movies. 

 Last year I joined MOPS (Moms of Preschoolers) at one of the local churches, Hannah and Gryffyn didn't get to have fun with this crew due to them being in school on Thursday. Now that their schedule has changed, the girls get to attend the playdates, like going to Playmobil. 

 I did get to babysit my friend Lauren's kids, Alexandra and Elizabeth, one day when she had a parent-teacher conference. I can tell you I am counting down until next semester when she has another conference. Alexandra followed all my directions so nicely and was super excited about playing with Hannah and Gryffyn's toys. Elizabeth was a little over 6 months when I babysat and it was so much fun to hold and snuggle an itty bitty again!

 At the beginning of September, I signed on to be the Co-Event chair for Relay For Life of Juno/Jupiter 2013 season. This included a trip to Orlando for training with my Co-Event chair KellyAnn (pictured below). She is such a joy to volunteer with, and brings the laughter out at the right times! Here she is starting her testing for CP-3, which is a prevention study test that American Cancer Society is running. She is my hero!

August Bham trip

Beginning of August, the girls and I went to go visit my family in Birmingham, AL. We had such a great time and would have loved to have stayed longer, but we had to get back in time for school to start. 

Dearie and I worked on the girls' quilts that we are planning on having done by Christmas, and to entertain the girls during our "planning sessions", they played with yarn. It is so funny how easily amused a 2 year old and a 3 year old can be! 

 One of the girls favorite places to eat while visiting their grandparents was Frankie's. Frankie's is a local produce store with a restaurant added on. Most of the side dishes are made from the produce sold on the property, yummy corn on the cob, okra (yay!), and there was always fruit to be had! The girls also liked swinging outside in their "big girl swing".

 Uncle JoshA made it up from Auburn for a few days while we were visiting. Dearie and Papa treated us all to a day at the McWane Center. I don't know who had more fun, Uncle JoshA or the girls?

The McWane Center had a Dora and Diego exhibit that took up the whole 3rd floor, and the girls played each section at least twice. The only place they spent more time in was the bubbles exhibit!

Dearie and I also went outlet shopping one day (especially since I was missing the no tax day weekend in FL), and the girls were great to go along with us. This mall had a play area that we took the girls to after every two stores and even had a family restroom big enough for the double stroller and all our purchases.

The trip definitely made up for the horrible time we had trying to get there!
