Hannah has figured out a way to get her daddy's shoes into his closet. As soon as Dan gets home, he takes his shoes off. Hannah has started trying to put Dan's shoes on and then walks towards the bedroom...smart kid!
I posted that we bought the girls each a Pillow Pet. Gryffyn has a ladybug because her nickname is Bug, and Hannah has a monkey because her nickname is Monkey, so here are some pictures of the girls with their pillows during Gryffyn's tummy time.

Hannah pointing out the words she knows...
nose

eye

face

hair

ear

belly

toes

And Gryffyn is starting to enjoy sitting up with support...

Last night, Daniel and I went to dinner at New Asia in Germantown with some of his co-workers. We were joined by David, Matthew, Christian, and Stephen. The reason for this gathering...David's last day at Shelby Systems is today and we wanted to go celebrate his last week, as well as his move to St. Louis where he will be joining his wife and cute baby.

The dinner was amazing! We each had David select a dish for us and put them all in the middle of the table so we could share. There was steamed tofu with vegetables, lobster, Peking duck, fried shrimp, grilled scallops with buttered sauce, and crab meat with creamed corn soup.

You can tell that Daniel was in charge of the camera because most of the pictures were of food.

This morning I set about completing a task for the girls' Dearie and Mamaw. They had issued an official complaint about not having enough pictures of the girls' faces. So....

Hannah playing in Gryffyn's room with her books while I feed Gryffyn (very difficult to take picture at the same time)...

Hannah not wanting to let Gryffyn have her individual portrait done.
These last pictures were taken after Hannah went down for her nap. On Wednesday, Gryffyn had her 2 month checkup...she's 2 MONTHS!!!

The stats...12 lbs 11 oz. and 23 1/2 inches tall.

The doctor asked a bunch of questions about what she is able to do and Gryffyn seems to be right on track. She can track my voice, seems to recognize Daniel's voice, can hold her head up (does the James Brown though), and can sit up supported.

Here is Gryffyn with her Pillow Pet. We got her a Ladybug because her nickname is Bug. We got Hannah a monkey because her nickname is Monkey.

This weekend we had a Baby BBQ in honor of Gryffyn. This was an opportunity for a bunch of our friends to get together and celebrate the new addition to our family in an extremely relaxed atmosphere. Since Gryffyn will not be able to remember this event, I made a frame for her with a picture of a tree in the middle. During the BBQ, each attendee left their thumb print on the tree using an ink pad.

Random photos from the party...

Odd thing about this, 73 photos were taken during the course of the party, and I am in two of them. You know I'm a mom when the first picture is taken after Hannah had pooped on me and I had changed from my pretty party dress and while Gryffyn is pooping on me.

Relay for Life, Pool, Avatar

The title to this blog post pretty much sums up our weekend...or at least the photographed ones. Saturday morning I attended my friend Lauri's daughter's dance recital. It was SO cute, but of course I forgot my camera!

About the time I got home, Daniel was cutting the backyard while our neighbor Georgia watched the girls. Georgia has two adorable twins who will be three in August. Their names are Jake and Julia. Hannah loves playing with both of them, and Gryffyn seemed to love sleeping in Julia's crib. After Hannah took her nap, we headed to the Relay for Life event here in Oakland. We didn't participate in a team this year, but we loved seeing people join together for a great cause! They had lots of games and entertainment for little kids. Hannah loved the bouncy house and walking around the baseball field with her dad.

When we got home, Gryffyn seemed to want to be a monkey like her sister. She was using my hair to climb up.
On Sunday we went to church and by the time we returned home, both girls were out! While they finished their naps, I worked on the front garden. I didn't take any pictures because it's not as pretty as my Mamaw's or my dad's. But as soon as it does look that pretty, trust me...I will take TONS of pictures! When Hannah woke up, she was ready to play in the pool. She was so excited that she didn't give me time to put on her bathing suit!

We were all exhausted after the pool (whether we played or watched), so we hunkered down to watch Avatar until bedtime...which included lots of good cuddling.
