Hannah standing
This is a video of Hannah trying to stand. Yes, I was helping her...but this has been one of her favorite things to do after finishing Tummy Time. She absolutely HATES Tummy Time and will cry a majority of the 10 minutes I place her on her stomach. She has only been able to roll over once, but seems to want to do it again. She will get started on rolling, but then gets too upset and goes back to crying. As a reward at the end of Tummy Time, we try to stand...as you can see in the video. She really likes this part and will laugh throughout the little exercise. She really is a joy to have.

Oliver and Banana the Monkey
If you really know me, then you know that I am the clumsiest fool out there! On our new house we got curved corners, so I would be less likely to hurt myself when I turned a corner. That just gives you a little idea of how clumsy I am. It seems that it runs in the family.
In my last blog, I mentioned that Atticus (black lab) attacked Oliver (brown mutt) for no apparent reason. Well, when I posted the blog, Oliver was at the vet having surgery. The vet ended up having to cut a portion of his ear off. The picture below can illustrate how mad I was at Atticus.
Oliver's left ear has a chunk of it missing and had some hair removed from his left leg from where the IV was placed. Sad puppy!
This morning I woke up to find my daughter had joined my clumsy club and scratched her forehead. Yes, her nails were recently manicured, but somehow she managed to do some damage.
This kinda looks like a mug shot.

All in all, everyone in the house is fine...just a little clumsy.
I started seeing Hannah play with different items this past week when I was visiting my parents' house. At 13 weeks, she is becoming more alert and wants to grab ahold of items. While visiting my parents, Hannah received her first plush dolly named "Sammy". But tonight, she only seemed interested in "Banana" the monkey. Hannah received this monkey the night she was born from her Aunt Brandy.

Girls Only Road Trip
This past week, Hannah and I went on a little driving trip...alright, alright...Hannah says it was a big driving trip...especially when you think about how much time she spent in her carseat. This trip really shows me what an awesome baby I have...not that I didn't already know!
I had planned on waking up early (6:30) Wednesday morning and getting on the road to Birmingham, AL. The reason I had planned on leaving at this time is that Hannah usually wakes up at 6:00 in the morning, takes a bottle, then goes back to sleep for 3 hours. Since a trip to Birmingham from Memphis usually takes about 4 hours, I thought this would be prefect. Well...Hannah decided to make my game plan a little more interesting by waking up at 4:30 AM. Fun times are had by all when you decide to drive 4 hours at 5:00 AM!
When we got to Birmingham, we made a trip to my mother's office so she could show off her new grandbaby. We did not take any pictures, but Hannah did get lots of attention! Hannah rewarded all of the ladies with a few smiles.
Afterwards, we stopped by my grandparents' (Mamaw & Papaw) place for a little visit.
My mother and Hannah singing to one another. If American Idol does a duet competition, then watch out America!
After the visit with Mamaw & Papaw, Hannah decided it was time to see her grandfather, so we went to his house. It was also time to watch off some of the dirt from the road trip. I will spare you guys the picture of me...BUT Hannah really is cute!

Hannah: "I'm so fresh and so clean clean!"
Thursday and Friday we went to Mobile, AL to see my other grandmother (Granmere) and Aunt Elaine and Uncle Ralph. On the way down, we stopped by Durbin Farms off of I-65 for some ice cream. I got some strawberry ice cream and my mother got some peach ice cream. Hannah was lucky to be able to try both.

Aunt Ely talking to Hannah before our walk Friday morning. Elaine is where we got Hannah's middle name from (Laine). After our walk, we visited with Granmere for a little bit longer and hit the road back to Birmingham early that evening.
The rest of the weekend was very low-key because we had to rest from our big road trip adventures! On Sunday, we made one last trip to Mamaw & Papaw's house for some Hannah holding time.
We decided to turn in early Sunday night because Hannah and I would be making the trip back to Memphis early Monday morning...but before we could turn in, Hannah demanded some talking time with her grandfather.
All in all, it was a great trip and I can't wait to go back to Birmingham for Easter weekend, but Hannah sure did miss her daddy and I missed the Memphis barbaque...I mean I missed Daniel (and the barbaque). We also missed the dogs. Atticus was sure happy to see us when we got back, but we haven't seen Oliver yet. Atticus and Oliver got in a fight early this morning. Daniel had to take Oliver to the vet to have surgery on his ear. We hope Oliver feels better real soon!

Hannah in Nashville
The first weekend of March, we went with some of Daniel's friends to Nashville. Dave, Tyler, and Jason all wanted to see The Watchmen movie at the IMAX. They, along with Daniel, decided to meet Shanna, a friend from Knoxville, that Saturday to watch the movie.
Hannah and I decided to tag along so that we could go outlet shopping with Mary Catherine, who happens to live in Nashville. We found some pretty good deals, but I don't know if Daniel will let Hannah and I go shopping with Mary Catherine again since we did most of the shopping. What can I say? They had really cute baby clothes on sale and I have a really cute baby! What else am I suppose to do?
Mary Catherine feeding Hannah. Mary Catherine looks very natural at this! That's all I'm going to say!
This is a picture taken back in the hotel room after our major shopping trip. Yes, that is Hannah drooling on Daniel's head. Might as well take advantage of this opportunity...when is she going to get another chance like this?
And to end this blog...this is an older picture from our trip to the zoo in February. Mary Catherine had taken this picture and we just got our copy of it. I can't wait to add this picture to our family wall in the Living Room!

Highchair and First taste
This past week, we FINALLY received the highchair we ordered from Babies 'R' Us. I say finally because we ordered it when Hannah was 2 weeks old. She is 12 weeks today! First, it was on backorder. Then, the delivery people couldn't find our address. Then, it was on backorder again! And FINALLY after 10 weeks...we have a highchair! Do we really need it yet? No, but doesn't she look cute in it!
This is a Graco 4-in-1 Blossom. This means that it is a baby's highchair (shown now), a toddler's highchair, a toddler's booster seat, and a youth's elevated chair. So, even though it took a really long time to get here...we are going to get pretty good use out of it.
From the look of that smile, I think Hannah approves!
Tonight, Hannah tasted her first food (non-milk). She tasted, did not eat, but tasted a strawberry flavored gummi snack that Daniel was eating. You can't really see it from the picture, but it looks like a strawberry shaped gummi bear or worm. Daniel seems to like them, so we thought "What the heck!" After she tasted it, she continued to stick out her tongue and smile.

Snow...and it counts this time!
Each time this happens...I am surprised! They say in Memphis, "If you don't like the weather, then wait a few minutes because it will change." Well, I saw that play out yesterday. Dan, Hannah, and I were out running errands and it was a nice sunny day (one where I can wear just a long sleeve shirt). We leave one store, it starts raining. We leave another store, it starts hailing. By the time we get home, there is at least an inch of snow on the ground! In total, we got about four inches of snow last night. Too bad Hannah is sick, otherwise you would be seeing some cute pictures of her in a snowsuit (i.e. pink marshmallow).
Auburn chair
When I let the dogs out to eat and go to the bathroom, I went to take pictures of the front of the house. By the time I got back, they were done playing. You might be asking yourself how I got the dogs to play again? I went to the refrigerator, got four ice cubes, went back outside, and threw the ice cubes in the backyard. The dogs went bounding after them! Needless, to say my dogs will do just about anything for a few ice cubes!
