Allergic Reaction and Turtle

Well...it turns out my daughter either has early signs of hay fever or she is allergic to grass. We borrowed a lawnmower from our friends Jonathan and Trista since we do not own a lawnmower yet. Trust me...it is on the list. While we were visiting the Dobkins, we stood outside on their freshly cut grass. About two hours later, Hannah's left side of her face was swollen and had red spots going down to her chin and up to her forehead. Freaked this first time mommy out!
In this next picture, it looks like she just lost in a boxing match...but she is still smiling!
The rest of the weekend was uneventful...which was fine by me. But when I went to let the dogs out to play around lunchtime, I found a turtle just sitting on our patio area. If this doesn't prove we are in a woodsy country area, then I don't know what will!
Of course the turtle was in his shell because my dogs were outside.
This picture in through the glass from the door leading to the patio area. The turtle seemed to be pretty adventurous moving around the patio area after the dogs went inside. I like this picture because it also shows off one of Daniel's projects this weekend, which was assembling the water hose spindle.
This last picture is just a close up.
Now if you think I kept the turtle and put it in an aquarium, then you got another thing coming. I don't think Animal Control will allow me to have any animal that requires an aquarium...not after all the fish that didn't survive on my watch growing up. I am still surprised anyone let me have Atticus and Oliver!

Workout and Swing

Nothing new going on here, except for some very cute pictures. I started this new workout program this week. We are not able to go to our old gym anymore because they don't allow babies in the nursery area until the baby is 1 year old. Well...I can't wait that long to work out. Thankfully, one of Daniel's friends suggested a workout through DVDs. Hannah is really awesome while I work out. She just lays down on a blanket with toy and watch her mommy struggle (and she sometimes laughs).

So, I was working out Tuesday and Hannah had her pink teething ring with her on the blanket. All of a sudden it went from laying on her belly to around her foot. I found this pretty funny since she just found her foot two weeks ago.
Next thing I know, the teething ring is around her arm. How did it move from her foot to her arm? I don't know, unless my daughter came up with her own workout.
The other cute pictures are from today. Hannah was swinging while I was eating my lunch. She hasn't found much entertainment out of her swing until today when she started reaching for the items hanging above her head.
When she couldn't pull the items down, she got a little frustrated...
...but thankfully, she did not give up!

4 month check-up

Yesterday, Hannah had her 4 month check-up with Dr. Manzo. Hannah weighed in at 14 pounds 15 ounces and is 25 inches long. The doctor was very happy to hear that Hannah can track her parents' voices when we are talking and moving around the room. Hannah can also hold her head up, as well as roll side to side. Hannah has also found her toes! These are all achievements that need to be reached within this time frame. Dr. Manzo was extremely pleased that Hannah can roll from her stomach to her back, which is something that she needs to achieve by her 6 month check-up. So, we are ahead of schedule! Yay Hannah!

During this visit, Hannah received her 4 month shots and promised the technician that there would be no hard feelings. Hannah even gave her a smile afterwards.

Dr. Manzo told us that we could start introducing food to Hannah. We are starting with rice cereal once a day for two weeks, then bumping it up to twice a day. After that, we can start on other foods concentrating on one food a week until we figure out what she is allergic to.

Tonight we had our first attempt at rice cereal. As you can tell, Hannah was questioning what this was exactly.

After a few tries, Hannah started to get the hang of it....or maybe it was the parents started to get the hang of it...who knows!
And of course, no meal would be complete without an after dinner dessert. Hannah's dessert choice tonight...her dad's nose.

Easter weekend

Hello everyone! We got back from Birmingham last night. We went for a Easter weekend visit. Had lots of fun and got to see lots of people. The three of us left Memphis Thursday night, and Dan got to hang out with his old friend Bink. Friday was a leisurely day just hanging out at my parent's house. My mother was kind enough to watch Hannah Friday night so Dan and I could go to Christ the King Lutheran Church for Good Friday service, then join Dan's friends Clifford, Jamie, Robin, and Bink at Mellow Mushroom....mmmm, pizza!

Easter was celebrated a little bit differently this year, by having dinner with the family on Saturday instead of Sunday. The food and company was great, but I really wish my brother Joshua and Uncle W.H. could have been there! This just means we need to make a trip soon to see them!

We hit the road going back to Memphis Sunday afternoon after a quick lunch with the old CtK youth group.

To see pictures from this past weekend, plus the professional pictures of Hannah at 8 weeks, then check out our Shutterfly post.

Thanks and enjoy!

No April Fool's Day Joke

Hannah first rolled over while I was visiting my parents in Birmingham on March 18th. She rolled over for the second time (twice) on March 31st. Of course, those first two times...I didn't have my video camera ready. Finally...FINALLY...I remembered my video camera and she rolled over. It is such a cute thing and I am so excited that I get to share this!

I do find it funny that this happened on April Fool's Day. It seems the Weinbergs like doing things on holidays. Little factoid...five years ago today...Dan said "I love you" for the first time to me. I really am starting to like this holiday!
