Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday! Dan, Hannah, and I went to Tampa, Florida to visit some of Dan's family. Aunt Ginger and Uncle Wayne live right outside of Tampa, in an awesome city called Wimauma (don't ask me to try to pronounce that!). Dan's sister, Diana, and her family (Dustin, Hunter, Colton) were also able to join us for this holiday. Diana's family (The Warners) arrived on Tuesday and stayed until Saturday. We arrived Thursday and stayed until Sunday.

Right after we arrived in Wimauma on Thursday, we joined everyone at Ginger and Wayne's house for Thanksgiving lunch/dinner.

We decided to get a hotel close to where Ginger and Wayne live, but get a joint room so we could spend more time visiting. I found a great deal at Little Harbor. It was a 3 bedroom apartment/condo/hotel with access to the docks, the beach, and a pool. This was our view from the balcony...

Hannah loved to show off her many outfits, and her new walking skills!

Dustin (Diana's husband) has been competing in triathlons for the past few months. He was brave enough to go swim in the ocean. Although, it was warm in Tampa...the wind was very strong. The rest of us just cheered him on from the beach. This was Hannah's first time to the beach.

After Dustin finished his swim, we all went to the hotel pool (heated) and enjoyed some swimming time. Then we went back to Ginger and Wayne's house.

The Warners left early Saturday morning, and we switched to a hotel closer to the airport. We also got to enjoy some more time with Ginger and Wayne. They took us to Sweet Tomatoes Restaurant, which was my favorite salad buffet place when we lived in Florida and later that evening Dan made us all steaks.

Our hotel room for Saturday night was not that exciting, but we had to take a picture of what Hannah slept in. We used to travel with her Pack'N'Play, which is a foldaway crib. We realized after our last trip that the airlines have started to charge for that item as a luggage piece, so I found online a PeaPodPlus, which reminds me of a pup-tent. She did great sleeping in it!
I wasn't too happy with the airlines security check in Tampa on our way out.

(The employees ignored me when I got the bottles out to be checked, I waited 10 minutes, then when they examined prescription bottles of a lady that came through, I went to put the bottles up and got yelled at!)

BUT...the jungle gym/play area was AWESOME! I think every airport should have these! She had so much fun playing and it entertained her the entire time we waited. Plus, she was so exhausted from playing so hard, that she slept a majority of the flight!

Walking + Ultrasound...Wow, I'm tired!

Well, Hannah has started taking her first few steps the past week. She took her first four steps towards me (thankfully Dan and I were both there!) on November 14th! Since then, she will try walking...especially when she thinks no one is watching.
Hannah is really starting to enjoy the playroom/rec room now that she can explore more (i.e. more mobile). She has even discovered the joys of the Sit N Spin...it is especially fun (and never-racking) when she stands on it!

Here is Hannah taking a few steps towards the camera...
On Wednesday, Dan and I went to have the ultrasound for Weinberg #2 at the doctor...and it's a GIRL!!! Dan is now officially outnumbered, unless he tries to count our boy dogs and then we are tied.

I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving week!

Halloween weekend

This has been a great weekend! I will be honest in saying that I was very thankful for that extra hour of sleep on Sunday morning. I surely needed it after this fun-filled weekend!

It started after puppet "practice". I say "Practice" because Karalyn and I actually took the girls to a concert on Thursday night. We went to Hope Presbyterian Church to see Francesca Battistelli, Leeland, and Brandon Heath. It was a great experience for the girls and our team as a whole. After that, I joined Daniel and Hannah at David and Brandy Calhoun's house for our regular Thursday night get-together with a bunch of friends. They made Fiesta Chili with Venison, and it was amazing!

We had planned on entering Hannah in a costume contest at Scare on the Square in Collierville Friday night. With the gross weather (very muddy due to rain), we decided to have a few friends over to carve pumpkins. Karalyn and Terry came with their kids (Mitchell, Katryna, William, & Thomas) and John and Angi came with their kids (Trey, Gage, & Katie). Lauri and Ben were suppose to join us with their kids (Lindsey & Gavin), but the little man got sick...

We had such a great time hanging out and carving pumpkins, plus all the kids had fun hanging on "Mr. Dan" and playing with his video games.

I don't think she liked it so much!

The next morning (Halloween day), I went to walk in Race for the Cure on Team Angi. My friend Angi is a one-year survivor of Breast Cancer. This time last year she was going through treatment, so it was a great day to spend together and celebrate! There were two sections to the race. One was the 1 mile walk and the other was the 5K run. We did the 1 mile walk as a team so Angi's kids could participate.

After the walk, I went home to chill with Daniel and Hannah for a little bit. Around 3pm, we started getting ready to go to Trunk or Treat at Faith Lutheran Church. This year they had tons of entertainment, it was like a small carnival! I think people were pretty entertained by Hannah's costume...a ballerinasaurous.

We then went to the Barkers' house. Our friends Kyle and Holly Barker have two adorable twins that are 11 months old. We hung out with them and some of their other friends who had young ones. All the kids were one year or younger (Hannah was the youngest at 10 months), and they got along great! Daniel was again a hit with the kids by lifting them up in the air to get a giggle. We made a caravan with all the kids wagons, but it was great. We made it to 7 houses, which we figured was enough because some kids started falling asleep and the parents already had to much candy to eat!

Sunday we went to visit our friends, Jonathan and Trista Dobkins, who became new parents on Tuesday, October 27th, to Jonathan Elijah (JED). We took them some Mama Mia's pizza, which was mainly to distract them so I could get some newborn holding time. He is such a cutie! Very healthy looking at a little over 8 pounds and at the time looks like his dad made over! Hannah delivered her gift to Jonathan Elijah, which was a copy of one of her favorite books, "Five Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed".
