Chris Young Tourney Weekend
This weekend was the 14th Annual Chris Young Water Polo Tournament in Auburn, Alabama. When Dan and I realized that we hadn't been to Auburn since November 2007, we decided this weekend was a must! We both got to see some great friends that came in town for the weekend, as well as I got to hear lots of funny stories about Dan "back in the day". Here are a few pictures from the games Dan played in on Saturday on the Auburn Alumni Team.

While in Auburn, we decided to stay with my brother Joshua who lives at Chewacla State Park (also where he works). I loved being able to see his new cabin and play with his dog Bodhi. Right before we left on Sunday, his friend Dale called to tell us there was something we had to see. It was a baby Great Horn Owl (maybe 2 weeks old). Dale told us that this type of owl lives on the ground for the first month of his life learning how to fly and survive on his own. Until that happens, his mother will bring him food...look closely and you can see the rabbit and squirrel his mother brought him.

Gavin's party & Atticus
We had such a great time last night! Hannah's friend Gavin turned 3 and decided to have a few of his friends over to play with balloons, eat pizza, and decorate choo-choo train cupcakes.
Above are some of the kids decorating their cupcakes. Over in the left corner you will see pictures of Gavin through the years...how is he 3 already? Also in the left corner you will see a mass of brown hair...that would be me trying to decorate Hannah's cupcake and see if she is interested in the cupcake frosting. It seems like she has not inherited her mother's sweet tooth. While I type this, I am thinking about those cupcakes and how good they were!
She was very patient in her explanations, but extremely excited when he finally let her have the teacups.
This picture is from the car ride home. We changed Hannah into her jammies in case she fell asleep during the ride. Daniel thought it was more entertaining to have Hannah play with his hat.

The last part of this posting makes me have a heavy heart. Atticus, our black lab, has been a part of my family since he was 6 weeks old, but it is time for him to find a new family. He was born November 18, 2004 and is a mix between black lab(father) and brown lab(mother). Since Hannah was born, his behavior has changed. He seems disinterested in spending time with the family when Hannah is awake, and has become aggressive towards our other dog, Oliver, when Oliver formed a friendship with Hannah. We have come to the decision that everyone would be happier if we could find someone that would love Atticus as much as we do. Below are pictures of Atticus taken today.
