Today we went to Tom's Farm with our friends Georgia, Jake, and Julia. Georgia is our neighbor from Wisconsin. Her and her husband, Todd, moved down here about a year ago, and we have been enjoying their company since Gryffyn was born. Jake and Julia turned 3 in August.

Georgia suggested we go to Tom's Farm today to play on the playground, go on a hayride, and pick pumpkins. We had so much fun with them today that we decided to join them for dinner tonight and roast pumpkin seeds after.

We also had a great time at Olive Garden with Aunt B during lunch. Aunt B taught Hannah the "correct" way to eat spaghetti.

This weekend my parents came to visit us. The girls got spoiled rotten, as usual, and we all had a great time. My parents arrived after the girls had gone to bed on Friday night, but everyone was ready for some hugs and kisses (and pictures) Saturday morning!

I can't decide if I put my dad to work on projects, or if he put me to work on projects. Whatever the case, we were able to accomplish a lot of things, like a goodwill run, working on the garage, and fixing the garden. It was great getting all those things taken care of, and the girls had a great babysitter--their Dearie. We also got to watch a few football games...Auburn had us all worried towards the end...they shocked us...
and drove some to drink...(apple juice)
but they pulled it out in the end...WDE!

Sunday morning was pretty interesting with Hannah showing us her "mothering" skills and her different facial expressions she had been working on with Dearie. Gryffyn just wanted to show off her two new bottom teeth!

We also got to prepare food for Gryffyn and a snack for Daniel. Hannah is always a good helper in the kitchen. She helped me to make pumpkin baby food and roast pumpkin seeds for her dad. We are going to send them in a care package this week...so exciting!

While preparing Hannah's lunch the other day, she decided to inform me that I was taking too long. How did she decide to inform me? Through words...no. She decided it would be easier to show me what I should have been doing instead of cooking her food.

I should have found the paper plate in the pantry, put a piece of watermelon and a strawberry on this plate, and placed it at her seat. This is her example...
My other cutie-pie has become very animated lately. She is so proud of herself that she can sit up, that she has now started talking ("bah-bah") and slapping the furniture to show her happiness. Enjoy the video of Miss Gryffyn's happiness!

We went to the doctor's office last Friday for Gryffyn's 6 month checkup. I can't believe she is already 6 months! The doctor said that she was doing great, and we went through the checklist...sits up for 10 seconds unassisted (check), looks at you when you say her name (check), grabs for items with her hands (check), smiles when she recognizes your voice (check).

Now that Gryffyn has reached the 6 month mark, she can start working more on solid foods. Here she is trying broccoli.

and making Hannah laugh when she spits out the food...

The 22nd of September was Dan's last day at Shelby Systems here in Memphis. He started working for Peachtree Financial on September 27th down in Boynton Beach, FL. Before he left for his new job, we took a family day and spent it at the zoo looking at monkeys, lions, polar bears, and sea lions. The weather was perfect for it!
