We really love going to the park each week. This park is very small but has lots of fun things to play on and allows our imagination to soar with possibilities!

On April 27th, starting at 6pm, our family participated in Relay for Life of Lake Park. Relay for Life raises money for American Cancer Society. This money is used for many of ACS's programs, such as R.O.C.K. camp for cancer patients who are kids, Road to Recovery for chemo and radiation patients, and raises money for cancer research. Relay for Life is an 18 hour long event to help the survivors, caregivers, and other caring volunteers remind the community that we are fighting for a cure, and know how to have a great time while raising money!
Our team this year hosted the activity "Pie an Event Chair". Since we had two event chairs (Nicolle--yellow shirt and Betty Ann--black tank), we asked people to donate loose change and the event chair that raised the most by the end of the night received a pie in the face. If someone donated a dollar, they received the chance to pie the event chair. Betty Ann won the pie in the face (it was her birthday and ALL her family donated loose change) and Nicolle won the opportunity to pie her. Nicolle was nice enough to let Betty Ann's 10-year old daughter pie her mother.
We had line dancing to keep our bodies moving and awake during those 18 hours!
We had corn hole game!
We had sad moments...
and moments of HOPE!
And LOTS OF RAIN!!!
The next morning brought giddyness, chicken biscuits (as our community representative so happily shows), and raffles to be won!
Full Committee: Erin, me, Beverly, Betty Ann, Nicolle, Cindy
Fabulous Four for Last Year: me, Nicolle, Beverly, and Cindy
Gryffyn and momma dancing to the Twister game...

glad I didn't have to go up against this kid...
Closing Ceremonies:
This picture is of Alyson (community representative), me, and Tim (general manager at Walmart). Tim was kind enough to donate bags full of goodies to each participant at this Relay event and also donated a Panama Jack Bike Cruiser to the recipient of the Gordy Klatt award.
Gordy Klatt is the man that started Relay for Life in Tacoma, Washington in 1985 by walking 24 hours straight in hopes that friends, family members, and community would understand his efforts to put an end to cancer. Each person that came out to see him walk donated money for an opportunity to walk with him and he raised a little over $15,000 that year alone. Now Relay for Life is held in EVERY state, 24 in Palm Beach County alone, and 19 other nations.
Winning the Gordy Klatt award means that you were the best camper, most positive person during the event, and tried to raise awareness through your actions. The award is voted on by fellow Relayers and I won this year.
The Friday before Mother's Day, Hannah and Gryffyn's classes had "Muffins for Mom". Sorry about my camera not working correctly. It was overheating and I didn't know until the day of Muffins for Mom. Each of the girls made me picture frames for the refrigerator and placemats with their footprints on them. They sang "ABC's", "Eetsy Bitsy Spider", and "Five Little Monkeys". It was absolutely adorable!
After Muffins for Mom, we joined Dan at the merri-go-round and he took pictures of us.
My Mother's Day weekend was filled with so much happiness and lots of laughs. Dan and the girls made me a table for our entryway, but before we could do that...a trip to Lowe's.
How do you keep a 3-year old and 2-year old entertained at Lowe's?
Draw a funny face on the broken bathtub handle...kinda looks like Dan.
Twirl the princess...
Make a scavenger hunt of things to find

Daddy and his helpers...who says he needs boys!
And last but not least...Mother's Day means church and no cooking (Mexican restaurant).
