The girls have developed the art of silly faces. We have started making silly faces and silly face kisses, which are so much fun and SO SILLY!
On Friday, the 20th, we had two separate play dates at two separate parks with two different groups of friends...Gryffyn was exhausted just thinking about the day we would have...
We survived the play dates and came home to play with our blankets and enjoy our air conditioning...yes, we have our air conditioning on in January!
The girls have been using their dress up closet a lot this past month that they got from Santa Claus. Gryffyn prefers to wear her Minnie Mouse outfit from Halloween, but has just started getting use to the ears that are paired with her assemble.
A witch vacuuming? Something funny and oddly frightening...where did she get that idea? My brother, Joshua, would say she was trying to tell me something.
finally received our new doormat...makes me feel better about people visiting our hurricane area, otherwise known as the playroom.
On Sunday, the 22nd, I got to go watch a middle school production of Vampire Bride. My friend Nicolle and I went to support our friend Chris Chase and her daughter Kelly. Kelly played Mrs. Sink in the play and she was absolutely hilarious with her mean sarcasm (it was funny because Kelly is not a mean girl).
More pictures of playing outside in our dress up clothes...makes things much more fun!
We are continuing to read a book at night before going to bed. Hannah and Gryffyn pick out the books from the library once a week, which makes stories at night all that more interesting. As you can tell from the next few pictures, Gryffyn has started trying to dress herself.
At the library last week, we read stories about dragons (We are now in the Year of the Dragon) and we made dragons that liked to roar, but gave kisses.
This past weekend, we had our cousins (Hunter and Colton) and their parents visit us (Dustin and Diana) from Minnesota. Colton and Hunter had a fun time taking "the polar plunge" in our pool in January. The polar plunge wasn't exactly polar because the weather this weekend was in the 80's, but it will be a fun story for them to tell their friends who had snow this weekend.
On Saturday, Dustin and Diana headed to Miami to pick up Dustin's race information for the Sunday ING Marathon...so we got to spoil the boys on Saturday and Sunday. We went to Downtown at the Gardens to have ice cream and ride on the carousel. The girls wanted to ride on the turning wheel with their cousins. We went so fast that the technician commented that she thought it was going to detach from the carousel! Needless to say, I needed a moment when we got off the carousel to collect myself.
On Sunday, we headed to the beach and had a great time!
By Sunday night, we were ALL tired! So we enjoyed some down time in front of the TV watching Winnie the Pooh the movie...
...and Colton needed to practice his reading for school, so he read the girls their nighttime story in Spanish! (Hunter and Colton attend a Spanish Immersion School in MN.)
