February 2012

As soon as Hannah got her new bike, she passed on the bike from Armani to Gryffyn. Gryffyn didn't need any instruction..she just started pedaling! Man, was she proud of herself!

Whenever we get a chance to play board games, the girls choose the Princess Cupcake game first because they can make so many types of cupcakes and then pretend to eat them. Hannah has even started adding the Princess Cupcakes to her tea parties.

We started working on potty training Gryffyn in December. We have had good days....and not so good days. The pictures below are from a not-so-good day when she had an accident on the coach. While all the bottom cushion covers were in the laundry, Hannah made a bed to comfort Gryffyn. This reminds me of sitting with Papaw or the girls' Papa to watch a movie.

More bike riding in our neighbor's driveway.

This is a picture from my statistics class for my Masters program. Fun way to spend  8 Saturdays, right? At least I got an A...still can't tell you what I learned.
The girls are still enjoying their dress up closet

The day after Valentine's Day, friends of ours (Deseree and Jami) watched the girls so we could go on a date. This is a view from the restaurant we went to. It was so peaceful to watch the boats go by.

Towards the end of February we helped our friend Elizabeth celebrate her 1st birthday! It was such a fun birthday and the cake was wonderful!

Deseree and Jami's son, Tyler, decided to be baptized at their church end of February. We did not attend the baptism, but met them after to celebrate with frozen yogurt. Of course Dan insisted on buying Tyler a present to commemorate this occasion. The girls loved helping Dan pick out a gift. I see this picture becoming a screensaver for Dan soon.

Gryffyn continues to remind me that Atticus is her dog...
but I don't remember being this abusive to him...
 or him taking it!
Gryffyn also continues to remind me how exciting her teenage years are going to be. She really is going to keep us on our toes.
One afternoon she was SO EXTREMELY FUZZY that there was no doubt in my mind that she needed a nap. Yet, she refused! Finally, I was to the point of bribing the child just so she would sleep. So with her Easter dress on, she went to sleep in my bed. ...

I continued to work on homework, and do laundry, but after awhile I smelled something that smelled off. It was coming from my bedroom. I went to explore and Gryffyn was asleep in my bed, in her Easter dress, covered in dark purple nail polish. The nail polish was on her dress, my sheets, her foot, the toilet, the floor, the bathmat, and other small pieces of bathroom items. The bathroom and bedroom smelled SO STRONG OF NAIL POLISH...and she was fast asleep...until I started yelling, "YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!"

I threw the Easter dress away.
