June 2013

The girls had so much fun having Papa and Dearie visit this past June, but Dearie put me to work! In between spoiling time of her granddaughters, Dearie helped me work on the quilts we started when I was pregnant with Gryffyn. We are almost done and I can't wait to see the final product!
Gryffyn  tried to make a trade with Papa. If he gave her some coffee, she would share her bagel. I talked him out of sharing--Gryffyn has enough energy without the added bonus of coffee!
Besides spoiling, Dearie and Papa came down for the girls' first dance recital. We had so much fun at the recital that we decided to continue the celebrations by going out to eat. The girls found these really cool chairs to sit in after Rocco's Tacos.
Of course Dearie brought bubbles that the girls enjoyed!

coloring time while waiting for our food...

learning how to make brownies...who was the head chef here? I don't know either.
 Sunday pedicure day!

Tea parties also became a big hit at our house this summer.
One of my favorite things about the summer is Free Kid Movies during the week! This was a great opportunity for us to watch a movie that we either didn't get a chance to see last year, or watch a movie we didn't know if the girls would like or not. Found some real jems this summer to add to our movie collection!

Carousel after movie was a must!
Can't forget library/story time at our local library. One of my assignments for my grad classes this summer was to record how many books we read....131 books...my eyes hurt!

 Practicing the beam at gymnastics

Our good friends Kyle and Tyler were able to come play for a weekend in June! I picked them up from camp on that Friday and couldn't find Kyle's sunglasses. Kyle picked up Gryffyn's sunglasses, while his brother said "You can't wear those! They are pink!" Kyle said very confidently, "That's okay, I'm comfortable with my imagination."
 Hannah helping Daddy cook quesadillas.
What do you do when the pool pump is broken during the hottest month of the summer? Buy a $5 Slip N Slide!

On Hannah's half-birthday, Momma and Hannah went on a date to pick out her first violin. She was so proud.

Hannah practicing writing her name on our chalkboard.
Carlin from Bravery Soup, a book we read this summer. I had to complete a project with that book this summer for my grad class. Hannah looked at my project while painting her depiction. Wish she would have done it before my project was due...would have used her painting instead!
Our friend Winston suggested we try a new adventure...ice skating! The girls had so much fun!

May 2013

The beginning of May was greeted with the Two Year Old breakfast at the girls' school. Gryffyn made a really pretty placemat for me to enjoy and we have a lovely breakfast together!
Ms. Mary, the teacher's aide in Gryffyn's two year old room
Ms. Mari, Gryffyn's two year old teacher
That evening the two Textor boys were dropped off for a spend the night party! Their parents have been given the opportunity to serve their church, which means trainings every once in a while. Since our kids get along so well, we get to have sleep overs while the parents' train...haha!

Breakfast time!

Kyle had a baseball game and was kind enough to walk with Gryffyn while showing us what field we should be at for the game.
Tyler and Hannah keeping cool with their water bottles during the game.

Tyler and Kyle (or their parents) were nice enough to treat all kids to sno-cones during the game. Kyle had to wait until after his game for his.

Hannah decided in May that she was going to be my new running buddy. I think she is in it just for the cool outfits!
We participated in another year of Relay For Life. I planned on making mini pancakes to sell at 4am that Sunday (as pictured below), but the rain got the better of us again. We ended up working on eating pancakes for the next week and a half...I made 200 mini pancakes!

Our Relay For Life event was held at Jupiter Community High School, which was a fabulous location! We had such a great time setting everything up, and it looked great! I wish I had more pictures, but my phone could not hold a charge that day!

I did mention that we got rained out at Relay For Life. It was suppose to last until 6am on Mother's Day, but due to the storms that usually take place in May-July, we had to call it at midnight. This did mean that everyone got to go home, sleep, and pamper their mothers for some of the day! I got to go to Mellow Mushroom and enjoy Family Fun Fest at City Place with my family...it was a wonderful Sunday!

We are still enjoying the fact that we live so close to the parks down here! Now the girls and I have started riding our bikes to the park. Makes us tired when we get back, but it is worth the smiles and giggles during the ride!

That following Saturday, my MOPS (Moms of Preschoolers) table got together as a 'Welcome Summer' party at the beach. Gathering so many families together took a lot of organization on the part of our table leader, Deseree Textor, but like always she did a fantastic job!

During the summer, the girls enjoyed gymnastics. They attended one time a week and did really well. I am still trying to find out if they want to continue during the school year. Try getting a straight answer from a 3 year old and 4 year old!

We also inherited a fish named Fishy Bill from our neighbor who was moving. He is a blue Beta fish and is mainly Dan's pet.
At the end of May, the girls had dress rehearsal for their dance recital. I took some pictures (mostly blurry), but they enjoyed dressing up in their costumes and practicing for when Dearie and Papa could see them!

A few days before the big dance recital, Dearie and Papa (my parents) came to visit. The girls enjoyed taking them to our favorite restaurant, Tijuana Flats, and Dearie and I worked on the quilts for the girls' beds a little bit more.

almost done...
