The girls had so much fun having Papa and Dearie visit this past June, but Dearie put me to work! In between spoiling time of her granddaughters, Dearie helped me work on the quilts we started when I was pregnant with Gryffyn. We are almost done and I can't wait to see the final product!
Gryffyn tried to make a trade with Papa. If he gave her some coffee, she would share her bagel. I talked him out of sharing--Gryffyn has enough energy without the added bonus of coffee!
Besides spoiling, Dearie and Papa came down for the girls' first dance recital. We had so much fun at the recital that we decided to continue the celebrations by going out to eat. The girls found these really cool chairs to sit in after Rocco's Tacos.
Of course Dearie brought bubbles that the girls enjoyed!
coloring time while waiting for our food...
learning how to make brownies...who was the head chef here? I don't know either.
Sunday pedicure day!
Tea parties also became a big hit at our house this summer.
One of my favorite things about the summer is Free Kid Movies during the week! This was a great opportunity for us to watch a movie that we either didn't get a chance to see last year, or watch a movie we didn't know if the girls would like or not. Found some real jems this summer to add to our movie collection!
Carousel after movie was a must!
Can't forget library/story time at our local library. One of my assignments for my grad classes this summer was to record how many books we read....131 books...my eyes hurt!
Practicing the beam at gymnastics
Our good friends Kyle and Tyler were able to come play for a weekend in June! I picked them up from camp on that Friday and couldn't find Kyle's sunglasses. Kyle picked up Gryffyn's sunglasses, while his brother said "You can't wear those! They are pink!" Kyle said very confidently, "That's okay, I'm comfortable with my imagination."
Hannah helping Daddy cook quesadillas.
What do you do when the pool pump is broken during the hottest month of the summer? Buy a $5 Slip N Slide!
On Hannah's half-birthday, Momma and Hannah went on a date to pick out her first violin. She was so proud.
Hannah practicing writing her name on our chalkboard.
Carlin from Bravery Soup, a book we read this summer. I had to complete a project with that book this summer for my grad class. Hannah looked at my project while painting her depiction. Wish she would have done it before my project was due...would have used her painting instead!
Our friend Winston suggested we try a new adventure...ice skating! The girls had so much fun!
